EDEC 4010: Partnership Program, Artifact

The work samples provided here have been selected from the final assignment of EDEC 4010 classes. For this assignment each student was required to create an artifact (e.g., a craft, a drawing, a symbol) that reflects who she is and who she wants to be as a future teacher. The students were asked to create their artifacts by reflecting on the assigned readings, discussions, and field experience that they did across the semester. Each artifact was evaluated by three criteria: (a) sources of an inspiration, (b) ideas for how to use the artifact for the future teaching, and (c) explanations of the meanings of the artifact. The students were encouraged to create an artifact which could represent their developing teaching philosophy so they could bring it with them for their future job interviews and keep it in their future classrooms as a reminder of who they wanted to be as a teacher. During the last class session, each student had a chance to share her artifact with her classmates by making a short presentation.
